Training of Career Guidance Counsellors
Introduction
The aim of the Course is to train participants in modern career guidance counselling and career development, with a view to practising the profession of career guidance and career counsellor to a high standard and effectively. Trainees may also go on to work in human resource management departments. The aims of the Course also include the prospect of a programme agreement with municipalities to support structures and the provision of counselling and career guidance services in municipalities, in accordance with Article 2(d) of the KEDIVIM regulations, the relevant legislative provision of the Code of Municipalities and Communities (Articles 75 and 85 of Law 3463/2006) and relevant international practice. The training includes the use of the leading Career Gate Test (the intellectual property of Career Gate, the company delivering the Course) and practice in the modern, successfully applied “golden rule” methodology for career choices, based on Holland’s theory of vocational personality. The seminar comprises online teaching and practical applications using tests, simulations, exercises and practical career guidance counselling applications. After studying the material provided, participants attend online training and individual counselling sessions with the instructors, ask questions and discuss with them in an experiential practice process. They complete relevant assignments, practise in career guidance counselling simulations and sit examinations.
