Modern Bank Management

Introduction

The training Course “Modern Bank Management” is structured into three self-contained teaching/thematic Units, lasting four, three and three months respectively. Through these Units, the Course seeks to familiarise participants with, and develop their understanding of, the basic concepts and mechanisms of banking. The aim of the Course is to provide training in current banking issues and to give participants a competitive advantage in an increasingly competitive labour market. The banking market is constantly changing as new technologies move beyond the stage of a simple tool to become a trend. The average person adopts new trends every day. In the tough reality of Greek banking, there is room for real growth only for those who look to the future. Customers no longer need (or want) to visit a branch. It is the services offered by the bank that must reach the customer. This can be done without losing the personal touch. In this spirit, and with an eye on developments (in Greece, abroad and in new technologies), we will seek to equip ourselves with useful knowledge for the bank officer and the bank, and for the employee of a financial services company and the company itself. On completing their study of the Course, students will be able to know, understand and describe:

• The basic concepts of Electronic Banking • Current technological developments in the Banking sector • Electronic payment methods and systems • The new Project Management methodologies being followed • The new technologies being adopted in the Banking sector
