Methods of Educational Research and Innovation
Introduction
Educational research and innovation methods are crucial tools for the continuous improvement and development of the education system. At a time when education faces constant challenges and change, the application of scientific research methods in the education sector is becoming increasingly important, as they make it possible to obtain and analyse reliable data, thus providing a sound basis for decisions that will lead to improved educational practices and learning outcomes. At the same time, innovation in education paves the way for new ideas, approaches and practices that have a positive impact on the educational process and promote pupils’ development. The combination of these two aspects – educational research and innovation – opens up new horizons and creates a momentum that supports the progress and renewal of our education system. The Course “Methods of Educational Research and Innovation” provides participants with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to apply innovative teaching methods and to continuously improve the educational process.
The ultimate aim of the Course is to train students through asynchronous learning. More specifically, the Course aims both to improve the student’s position in the labour market and to disseminate scientific knowledge, as it introduces participants to the subject and methods of scientific educational research. Its objective is to equip students with introductory knowledge of the broad methodological spectrum of educational research and of the organisation of the research process. The range of topics covered prepares students to understand educational research papers, to conduct research, and to explore systematic educational research in greater depth. The tools studied are also considered essential for researchers carrying out empirical economic studies and public policy impact assessments.
