European Sustainability Policies

Introduction

With the aim of transforming the current model of production and consumption towards sustainability and supporting the goal of a climate-neutral Europe by 2050, the European Union has put in place powerful financing instruments. The training course “European Sustainability Policies” examines these policies in depth, with an emphasis on the green energy sector and the promotion of quality jobs. Through the Course, participants acquire the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable development, while also learning about the financing instruments available to support sustainability, strategies for a smooth and successful transition, the strengthening of human resources, and the core principles of sustainable development and flagship green investments.

The main aim of the Course is for participants:

  • understand that the current development model has reached an impasse, as it is responsible for climate change and the reckless use of natural resources to the point where nature can no longer replenish them
  • understand that the sustainable development model is a necessity that must be supported by everyone
  • become acquainted with European sustainability policies and the funding programmes that accompany them

Sustainable development also encompasses the just energy transition, which aims to support the regions and workers affected by delignitisation so that they can be integrated smoothly and seamlessly into the new, green labour market.
