Quality Policy
KEDIVIM of the University of Piraeus recognises that its Quality Policy is an ongoing process of improving its training programmes and that, for this reason, vigilance and academic dialogue are required to safeguard it. The formulation of the KEDIVIM quality policy takes into account wider academic developments and the shaping of a European and international academic map with regard to the composition and structure of programmes, as well as the labour market, where conditions are constantly changing. The KEDIVIM Quality Policy is aligned with its Strategy and with the Quality Policy of the University of Piraeus, and aims to fulfil its mission and objectives of offering high-level non-formal education programmes.
KEDIVIM of the University of Piraeus operates in accordance with the guidelines of the European Union and the European Framework for the development of Lifelong Learning, the principles of adult education, the scientific, educational and pedagogical framework, and the methodology for designing training programmes in line with the needs of the economy, emerging professions and skills, and the labour market.
Every member of the Centre (Administration, Principal Investigators, Academic Coordinators, Trainers, staff, etc.) contributes to the common purpose of achieving the objectives of KEDIVIM, with responsibility towards social partners and respect for human rights, the environment and the principles of bioethics. All parties involved take on specific responsibility for improving quality and take part in safeguarding it.
To implement and apply its Quality Policy, all KEDIVIM activities focus, among other things, on:
- the appropriateness of the structure and organisation of the training programmes it offers
- the development of teaching methods and the monitoring of the implementation of training programmes
- the achievement of learning outcomes and qualifications in accordance with the European and National Qualifications Frameworks for Higher Education
- the continuous improvement of the learning process and the effectiveness of teaching through innovative practices
- upgrading the qualifications of teaching staff and trainers
- the quality of support services, such as administrative services, academic services (e.g. library services, laboratories, etc.) and student welfare services
- linking learning subjects with the labour market
All procedures focus on increasing the participation of members of the academic community, on the design and development of training programmes and on strengthening the internal operation of KEDIVIM. In this context, the Centre follows specific standards and procedures, in accordance with the Internal Quality Assurance System of the University of Piraeus, through which the quality policy is designed, approved, published, implemented, monitored and reviewed.
The Administration of KEDIVIM is committed to implementing this Quality Policy and reviewing it regularly, in order to comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements, while also supporting the active participation of staff in safeguarding the quality of the training programmes delivered. The commitment of the Administration and of all staff to the continuous improvement of the services provided is a strategic choice of management and responsibility.
